Art As A Wayfinding Practice
Kia ora, I'm Ninu (she/her), a Mexican artist living in Aotearoa New Zealand, the place I call home. This is the space where you’ll find my most recent creative projects, creative offerings I’ve lovingly prepared for you, and my Simple Living Journal—a blog where I write the story of how and why I’m simplifying my life.
I do collage, digital illustration, craft objects, and dabble in animation every now and then. I’m also a participatory art experience designer, which means I take people on creative journeys where we reflect and discuss different topics about our present world and make art based on our reflections. Here’s a project I designed on female body hair and body positivity. These projects invite us to challenge our “autopilot” ways of thinking and doing, and to imagine worlds that truly work for us.
I call it the Wayfinder journey—where we navigate complexity together, slowly discovering ways of living that feel healthier and more aligned with our unique circumstances: who we are, what we want, and what we need.
If you’d like to keep in touch, about once a month I send out an art hug to my network of Wayfinders via my newsletter. Please feel free to join my email list.
